HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !

I wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year, and I hope you had just like me a wonderful day and night with your family and loved ones!
When you are wondering why the Chinese New Year is not on the first of January: We go after the Lunar Calender, which means that the calender is based on the moon phases. So our New Year's day can be in the early or in the late February.
My Chinese teacher told me, that when people ask her when her mother's birthday is, she simply answers with "I don't know." because it's, just like the Chinese New Year, on a different day every year.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you shortly how my day yesterday went and wanted to show you some pictures. My family and relatives gathered together at my Uncle's house and everyone brought food. Then we prayed and after that ate all the fooooood. At the end of the day the older generation gave the younger one red envelopes with money in it, which imply luck, success and happiness for New Year. I hope you enjoy all the foodporn below *smirks*

Love y'all and peace out
